The Exhibition Area

April 21-29, 2012

The Fortezza da Basso Becomes the City of Beauty.

The Fortezza da Basso has hosted the International Handicrafts Trade Fair since 1978.

A masterpiece of the military Renaissance architecture, the Fortezza da Basso was planned by Antonio da Sangallo il Giovane and commissioned by Duke Alessandro de' Medici, and was built between 1534 and 1537.

Itineraries between history and contemporariness - from the Monumental Area to the Polveriera, perfectly restored, up to the Spadolini and Cavaniglia pavilions, modern areas devoted to exhibitions.

A Strategic Location in the Heart of Florence.

The Fortezza da Basso is close to several parking areas and is only a few steps away from the Santa Maria Novella railway station. It is well connected to the Florence Airport thanks to public transportation (taxis, buses and trams).

55,000 sq mt. for an Excellent Exhibiting Surface.

Large entrances and practical itineraries allow an easy access to pavilions. Thanks to clear logistics, means of transports can easily move inside the exhibition premises.
